Some events are removed from the deck when played, and others are added as you progress in the campaign (when a character attains its goal, when you do some quests, change your prosperity or reputation, or unlock new classes).
If you feel like you are always getting the same events, it means that either :
- you've already played every non-repeatable events
- you've yet to unlock some new events
When you play the physical boardgame version, it instructs you to add or "destruct" event cards, but it's not as clear in the PC port.
I hope it helps.
edit ; grammar (not an english speaker) and precision on the boardgame mechanics
Some outcomes of an event also depend on the classes in the active team. You might fail because no merc has a necessary class
In the base Gloomhaven board game, there are 24 battle goals. Jaws of the Lion (physical) added I think around 16 more, and Frosthaven has a total of 72.
