What if there is an Internet connection? The game displays the following message: Loading could not complete.
Altough, generally stay stuck with the loading screen, so must be something else, which i have no idea what it is.
From what I can tell so far through my troubleshooting is that the problem is related to AMD drivers that were updated on a Dell XPS8940 model running Windows 11. If I switch back to the integrated video (Intel(R) UHD Graphics 750) card Gloomhaven and other Steam apps run fine. I'm just not able to find a compatible version of drivers for this AMD card (AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT) on this Dell system. Let me know if anyone has a similar system running applications on Steam/
1. Navigate to the following folder in Windows Explorer:
%LocalAppData%low\FlamingFowlStudios\Gloomhaven
Create a backup of the GloomSaves and GloomSavesOpenBeta folders and then delete the originals.
2. Go into the games properties in Steam and turn off Cloud Saves under the general tab
3. Launch Gloomhaven
4. Exit the game and you can now recopy back the save folders and turn back on Cloud Saves.
Since I was installing on a new computer and trying Gloomhaven again after several... several months.
That should get you past the loading screen to now the main menu of Gloomhaven. When you go back to that folder with the saves, you'll now see several other new folders that were missing and probably the reason it crashed to begin with.
This worked for me, re-installed the game after a few months and was having that problem. I disabled cloud saving and deleted those two folders. Ran the game and it loaded right away.
