Frozen on loading screen
This is my second PC. It's a new laptop with current gen processor and GPU.

Uninstalled/re-installed

Verified files

Tried letting it load

Tried opening as admin.

At the end of my rope. Is there support somewhere?

bit late, but it doesnt load without internet connection, expecially if you bought it trough epic store, which require the identification once you boot it up.

What if there is an Internet connection? The game displays the following message: Loading could not complete.

If you bought it through epic store, make sure you logged in with it.
Altough, generally stay stuck with the loading screen, so must be something else, which i have no idea what it is.

im having it freeze on the initial loading screen as well, right after the developer logos when the gloomhaven background first appears. music still plays on a loop, but the game freezing while loading. super frustrating as I have two campaigns currently in progress. i'm not getting any message to acknowledge it crashing. it just freezes and i have to hard close the game.

I'm having the same issue. Gloomhaven launches but then freezes through part of the launch process. Music plays but then hangs. The entire system starts to become unstable after that. Going into task manager and clicking for information to shutdown the process it becomes unusable and hangs task manager application. Then the only solution is to restart the computer before it's not able to recover before turning the computer off and on again.

From what I can tell so far through my troubleshooting is that the problem is related to AMD drivers that were updated on a Dell XPS8940 model running Windows 11. If I switch back to the integrated video (Intel(R) UHD Graphics 750) card Gloomhaven and other Steam apps run fine. I'm just not able to find a compatible version of drivers for this AMD card (AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT) on this Dell system. Let me know if anyone has a similar system running applications on Steam/

I should also point out that Gloomhaven is not the only app that I have problem launching. Any app that I launch with this AMD card has the same problem. The intergrated Intel Graphics card has no problem.

I also think the problem started when Windows went from version Win 11 version 22H2 to version 23H2. I notices that Dell has only verified version 22H2 on this model and hasn't verified 23H2 yet for the Dell XPS 8940. So I may try reverting to 22H2 and put my old AMD Drivers back and see if that resolves the issue.

Both I and my friend have had exactly this issue: frozen on loading screen with music still playing but star not spinning and nothing happens. I'm Geforce and Nvidia

Finally figured it out.

1. Navigate to the following folder in Windows Explorer:

%LocalAppData%low\FlamingFowlStudios\Gloomhaven

Create a backup of the GloomSaves and GloomSavesOpenBeta folders and then delete the originals.

2. Go into the games properties in Steam and turn off Cloud Saves under the general tab

3. Launch Gloomhaven

4. Exit the game and you can now recopy back the save folders and turn back on Cloud Saves.

Since I was installing on a new computer and trying Gloomhaven again after several... several months.

That should get you past the loading screen to now the main menu of Gloomhaven. When you go back to that folder with the saves, you'll now see several other new folders that were missing and probably the reason it crashed to begin with.

This worked for me, re-installed the game after a few months and was having that problem. I disabled cloud saving and deleted those two folders. Ran the game and it loaded right away.
