Either way, I would be surprise if it is a free upgrade, if it ever come to digital, it will be paid DLC imo (for the amount of work to dev)
Also, I guess we would then have both GH1 and GH2 to choose from when starting campaign (because paying more to replace content is kinda weird)
I'd pay for a GH2e dlc or standalone game.
It sounds like they're changing a lot more than just the character abilities though.
I would be extremely surprised if this port continues. Why make a game when its outdated? Who would purchase such a thing?
It's not "outdated" though. Gloomhaven is still the exact same game that topped bgg's ratings for 5 years. The existence of a new edition doesn't retroactively invalidate that.
Much more likely would be Frosthaven and even that would be surprise to be released. This game has not stellar user base. Maybe Forgotten Circle is not out of question... Little bit less to do. But even that is a big stretch...
