Report a translation problem
At the start of a turn, if there are two or more cards in hand (available to be picked), you can either Short Rest or Long Rest. If there is 1 or 0 card in hand, the character is Exhausted.
It does not matter if the cards used are Burned or Discarded.

So, you CAN start with 0 cards at the beginning of a round, as long as you can take a rest, which you can do, if you have at least two cards left on your discard pile. Which was the case in this situation and the Spellweaver still got exhausted.
You need 2 or more cards in the discard pile to rest, not 2 or more in your hand. Don't know what went wrong then.
The only thing I can think of is that the character died because of being Wounded and having 1 HP left.
I had no effects on me and plenty of hp left. I searched a bit and there was a bug report from 2019 and october 2022 where people seemed to have similar issues. I am going to report this too.
