redthorn keeps running in and dying, nothing we can do, and he dosent even attack just move 3, unplayable mission, no fun when the ai is activly sabotaging

It's not unplayable and there's plenty you can do. Stay ahead of him and if he's moving too fast then use your own positioning to give him nowhere to advance to. Between damage, control, heals and protection, you should have plenty of tools available that you can use to keep him safe. Remember, he only goes on 99 and monsters will prefer targets who are closer or who have faster initiative - so everyone who isn't resting. This mission is designed to put pressure on you but it also assumes that you understand the rules of the game. There is a very easy way to beat this mission. Bring the beast tyrant in your party, give him a bear focused build, and make sure he has the card Disorienting Roar. As you play, don't bother moving the Beast Tyrant himself at all, just focus on moving and attacking with the bear. When you are about halfway through the dungeon, use Disorienting Roar to swap the positions of Redthorn and and the Beast Tyrant. By doing this, Redthorn should be out of harm's way for the remainder of the scenario

Sunkeeper also works, you move him back.
But yeah it's a test of game knowledge, try to actively block him by standing on hexes he will move into, works better if you have more character and/or melee guys. but yeah it's a tricky mission without a proper party, but quite doable.
