What classes are you playing? How often are you using burn cards? Or how often are you loosing a card instead of taking damage?

IMO I try to not use any burn cards until half way through the adventure. Using these too early will severely hurt you in the longer run.

I am / was new when I picked the game up. Some cards have a little symbol in the lower right corner (of the top or bottom half). This means the card will be permanently burned for that "dungeon". Apparently there are cards that will permanently burn for a whole campaign, but I haven't seen these yet. To get a better idea of what I'm talking about hit ESC, How To Play, Cards, Discarded and Burned. You may also want to read the bit about Damage and Exhaustion.

So yeah, the whole "mechanic" of the game is to balance what cards you use and when, and when to use those abilities which burn. I typically wait until the final room to use most of these, and even then wait until I'm certain I can clear the enemies.

There are no cards that will burn for the whole campaign. Unless you're talking about items, which the video game introduces (the durability mechanic...ugh).

Start by reading the Guides section here on Steam, some good basic tips there. There are also various videos that explain the mechanics of the boardgame in detail.

I tend to play the spellweaver and that class has a very different flow to their card usage, almost a first phase and second phase play style with either half being able to be played fast and loose or low and slow. The brute tends to offer an easy health management against damage style. The scoundrel can be a tough character to sequence as you have to manage the hit and run or ensure kills to mitigate potential incoming damage with another character. The Crageheart is a fairly easy character to work with since he can easily take on a jack of all trades style, everything from melee tank to a ranged damage dealer with healing or a whole toolbox of various support skills.

I dunno about the videogame, but in boardgame you should more or less run through the content very fast, sometimes ignoring gold or treasures just to not waste a turn, and that. Also try to maximize attacks, I mean using the less possible number of cards to kill the more monsters posible.

Sometimes is just a race against the game, running to the objective so you don't exhaust your cards. Its also dangerous cause many monsters can kill you, but I hope you get the idea of what I am trying to say. In this game you should not chill and go slow, passing or wasting turns, its more like a min/max-optimizer kind of game, depending on your hand of course.

The more you know the character and his deck, the more you will play because you will be able to predict what happens next turns.

- Use an easier team, like Crag/Brute. They have the most cards and most health.
- Do not use ANY burn abilities (abilities with the little flame in the lower right)
- You can use a generic melee attack 2 on every card, click the attack icon on the middle left.
- You can use a generic move 2 on every card, click the move icon on the middle right.
- Once you have used all your cards, perform a Long Rest. Long Rest will ask you to pick a card to remove, and then return all your other cards to your hand.
- Keep doing this until all is dead.

You should get about 20 rounds before you run out of cards this way.
Then, learn how to manage your burn(Lost) cards as you progress.

Why are you keeping calling LOST cards burn cards?

I have only played for about an hour but I am realizing this game is quite hard until you "crack" the strategy. Which I have not, yet. I have restarted the very first Easy dungeon on Easy (most of the time the Shooting Gallery) 6 times so far. Never survived past half the enemies in the second room.

I advise you to get familiar how the monster AI is moving, also try to avoid burning your cards too fast if you are unexperienced,
And if possible dont play spellweaver for now :-)

Some how you need to not short rest too much until your stack reaches the last card then short rest or long rest,If you rest say 5x you are screwed firmly into that dungeon wall and nowhere to go but self murder! At that door into the next pit of hell you need most of your cards or else the devil will come and whip ass?!! and the demons will feed on your remains!

Some cards have a little symbol in the lower right corner (of the top or bottom half). This means the card will be burned/lost when played.
You will notice that the power of these cards are often much stronger than regular abilities.
Note that a long rest will save you playing 2 cards, and you will be able to use all of your items again.
Play the card abilities that burn towards the end of the level.

Why the 4 year necro offering advice on a thread that was clearly over and complete?
