One of the changes in general from the boardgame to the digital is that the monsters, bosses, and friendly monsters each have their own deck. I assume the board game had so many decks going on already they used the same to prevent it from being even more.
As nice as the music notes modifier deck can be I see how this would especially impact his scenario.
Digital has more decks than physical, which was limited for cost reasons. Frosthaven will get an allies deck, though.
The solo scenarios are meant to be quite difficult.
1. Pack your deck with a couple level 1 ranged combat cards - these normally aren't very good, but you're going to have to rely on your own attacks more than you would in a normal scenario.
2. Get enhancements and/or items that will improve your movement and give you jump. The jump will be very important later.
3. In the first room strengthen/bless your allies and use the attack increasing song - with decent luck you should kill or nearly kill the guards in the first volley. Don't use your crowd control abilities yet - you'll need those in the next room, and you probably can't afford a rest or potion use this early.
4. In the second room press yourself up next to the guard (ideally jump over the tables to get on his side so your allies will still move up to hit him). Try to survive the archer volley, and on your next turn use the bottom of provoke terror to push the guard out of the way so your allies can start streaming into the room. Use all your potions in this room so you can crowd control every turn.
5. Once the second room is safe press yourself up against the door to the third room. With one action cross the third room to get next to the last door and stun/disarm the golem. You can stop caring about the lives of your allies now - their only purpose is to distract the golem and one of the guards in the 4th room for the rest of the scenario.
6. Jump (I said that would be important later) into the 4th room, over the guards, and next to the shaman, blocking off her escape path. For the rest of the scenario use standard attacks and the bottoms of Singing Arrow (wound will be very helpful) and provoke terror, and cross your fingers that your modifier deck kills her before the one guard that can reach you kills you.
Has been stated many many times that every single change from the tabletop to the video game version was done in cooperation with Childres.
