About side quests?
How do you decide what to take and when? Is there any indication of the expected difficulty level or just roll a dice and hope it's not another suicide job.

The majority of quests are pretty similar difficulty. Generally do whatever you like.

Thanks, just noticed that there is very little harm trying missions since no permadeath or heavy penalty on failing. Still this game is no joke, Barrow Lair was a bit interesting... survived by the skin of my teeth.

I'd say side quests are often more difficult than average, and best attempted when geared up and with characters with a few levels under their belt.
The game is harsh, but actually there is no real penalty for failure, other than your RL time.
You even get to keep the xp/gold you earned on any "suicide job",
and now you know the exact nature of the challenge, when you return for a second attempt, you can tailor your cards/equipment
to increase chances of success, load up on pierce abilities if the baddies are shielded etc.

The only rule on side quests is the same with the other quests. Look at the enemies and what they do, and then, look at your party and see if it matches up. For instance, if you have a melee-heavy party, a heavy-retalliate enemy quest, wait on it until you've retired some of the melee guys for ranged characters.

The only other thing to keep in mind with side quests is that there is a personal goal to complete 6 side quests so if you're about to retire a character or two, you might want to leave them there until you see that you're not getting that personal goal. I don't think you can get those closed off by main storyline quests so they'll stick around.
