Where are the power spike levels for classes in general - and for different classes?

Are there particular levels that you are supposed to beeline toward for classes in general - as well as for individual classes? I've been playing at level 2 forever, because I do not want enemies to level. But it's getting boring farming them. But I am also afraid of going to level 3 and facing enemies 1 level-up.

Hmm, off the top of my head: Sun, Eclipse, Ubisoft, Lightning Bolt, and Music Notes get some pretty good level 9s.

Scoundrel is so good in Boss missions. She can do so much burst damage with Backstab Smokebomb and she also has later a move ability which also gives advantage, she deals damage in double digits when needed (boss)

Well my scoundrel has career goal of 4 boss missions, 3 completed now..

Eventually you can get Angry Face, and that class is excellent at melting bosses. That was my character for the final boss of TT gloomhaven.

Oh, gosh, that was pre-pandemic and before we all re-rolled for the expansion, I'd probably need to check the Town Records book to recall exactly, and the game lives at a friend's house. I do recall Ubisoft because it synergized incredibly well with Angry Face in that scenario.

Well, the Spellweaver and the Triforce are also ranged damage dealers. Angry Face is a better single-target damage dealer while the others focus more on multi-target damage.

Yeah, I know. But I don't like casters, and they are more hybrid characters and not pure damage dealers in the way I think of ;)

But of course I will get a better grasp once I unlock Angry Face and Triforce.

"Caster" isn't really a mechanical category though. It's just thematic. Like Angry Face would be the exact same if shot bolts of magic instead of arrows.
