Also I suppose it'd be good to edit the question (and/or use spoiler marks) as this kinda does spoil the reward for it.
It involves a meta-puzzle that doesn't translate well to a video game. Gloomhaven's creator also considers it the game's biggest secret and likely wouldn't want it included in digital either.
It's quite simply that Flaming Fowl were contracted to deliver the contents of the Gloomhaven box. It would have been pointless to have the puzzle without the reward (the reward isn't in the box), so that's been omitted as well. All related scenarios are still there, though, reconfigured so they're all accessible, and the Personal Quests unlock different mercenaries.
Envelope X is in the box, as are some (but not all) of the puzzle components / answers.
The thing you unlock after solving the puzzle contained in Envelope X is not in the box; it was a print-and-play component
Vengeance Lightning Bolts
I suggested Saw's as thematic and because one other of theirs is difficult. Vegeance for the name, no other theme.
