Anyone happen to have a list of the changes there are from the OG boardgame and 1.0? I know I've seen it before but can't seem to find one. Wondering if any are as potential game changing as this could be for a character/player
If you join the discord they have a feedback and a bug reports channel. If you leave your comment there it will get more visibility.
I was also annoyed at not being able to casual locked but revealed scenarios. Instead they completely disappear from the map which sucks. Will make some of my retirement goals much harder, especially the vermling farming one I happened to get and was going to do with the blocked scenario early in the game.
Other thing is it draws a new road event when you retry a scenario or casual it. I'm pretty sure that's not right either.
There is one side scenario that unlocks as Gloomhaven prosperity goes up that has almost all the imps in 1 map. But ye this change is quite problematic both because it makes some personal objectives harder and also because there is no reason to lock ppl out of scenarios, let ppl play them if they want...
Especially why it bothers me in my case: My main character is the Scoundrel. And I essentially need the item out of the chest in Scenario 3 (which you can only get there and nowhere else). But I already locked it now before completing it once. So I will never ever have the possibility to do my Scoundrel build. That is taking a lot of fun.
I was surrpised that quests got locked at all, because some quests like finding more information about the necromancer lady was playable even after that was no longer relevant...
Reroll back please. That's un-needed and uncalled for, with untested balanced effects too.
Bring back the boardgame please, stop trying to outfox yourself by adding changes.
Seems like the obvious way to handle it, keeping it aligned with the intended design.
The completed scenario shows a chest icon if there's a chest, a crown if it's been looted.
Unless you're playing multiplayer, and then they all show crown for some reason.
Anyhow, totally agree that we should be able to play casual mode. Besides the forest imp PQ, from TT I recall the Vermling PQ takes a really long time if you're locked out of the mine early on.
Yup, this is the exact personal quest I drew for one of my starting characters. Being locked out of the mine to help complete it is super annoying. I decided to shelve the game while they are bug fixing. Having Clear the Way completely broken also took the wind out of my sails, along with the enhancement changes and this. I understand some changes need to be made in the conversion, but plenty of the things they did need not have changed and were working just fine in the board game. In general the video game is quite a bit more opaque in ways I don't find helpful. Like I know some of the events I'm getting certain things because of my party composition, but even if I don't see the other option, I wish I could see that party composition effected the outcome. For non players of the original board game they won't even know party composition is a factor.
Go to loot island..
That's available pretty early. Got 14/15 done, which was lucky as don't actually want to retire yet. And LOTS of gold.
