Barrow Lair
So my friend and I started up the campaign and we got through the first mission on our first try (easy difficulty, but still we were pleased) with Brute and Scoundrel. But in Barrow Lair we had a hard time knocking out the bandit leader so he was able to summon a bunch of skeletons and unlock two doors. As a result, though we were probably one round away from completing the mission, we were both exhausted on turn 14 or 15.

So...the question is do we try again with the same combo or opt for something with more range attacking ability (say cragheart/spellweaver) so we can take down the leader earlier. Alternatively, we could go with a full party (since there's two of us, we won't be doing a trio) and just add cragheart and spellweaver to the others. Is it better to stick to the same mercs so as to level them up or should we be spreading the use around to improve our flexibility?

Barrow Lair can be tricky, but Brute and Scoundrel should be fine for beating it. This scenario is unfortunately a bit more luck based than the previous one, since the bandit boss can randomly summon or open doors, and you have to deal with 3 curses in your deck.

My advice is to go all in on the boss. Try to make sure the scoundrel is only using her big hit abilities while the brute is adjacent to the target. If you need a really big hit, scoundrel has smoke bomb, while brute has balanced measure + skewer and boots.

I wouldn't bother leveling up multiple characters simultaneously. As you reach higher levels of prosperity, you can make characters that start at higher levels.

I got down to a single skeleton my first two attempts. Both ended in failure due to back to back 0 attack modifiers. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rage both times....loved it! 3rd attempt in a few minutes. I got bandit leader both times with him opening only a single door. High damage cards used on him both times. Do not leave the archer up tho, getting pinned will 100% ruin your day lol

Brute and Scoundrel can be done. I won the scenario so that I played the card that gives scoundrel more damage for isolated targets (single out) and then smoke bomb. Then I backstabbed the boss. Three burned cards but he was killed with one (lucky modifier) hit. The second door he opens has a chest though so waiting for that to open might be good too.

The problem we had was that it was so hard to get next to the bandit leader because of his teleporting and ability to summon skeletons to put in between him and us. As brute, I think I only had two cards (skewer and spare dagger) that allowed me to attack non-adjacent enemies and scoundrel is mostly melee too.

Scoundrel is real good because of his movement and damage abilities. Brute has great defensive abilities. Its a real good team. The best 2 character team in my opinion.
