Black Screen on campain mode

I can play Guildmaster just fine like it always worked, but when i go to try campain mode, after choosing the diffuclty and naming the guild the screen turns black, i can still see the mouse icon and move it ans i hear the music, but its just a black scren and nothings happening, anyone else qith this issue?

I'm having the same issue as well. Possibly its got something to do with playing videos? Anyone got a work around?

Same. I can add that when hovering mouse pointer over different parts of the screen, I can hear sound ques for clickable buttons, and even click them for more sound ques. This leads me to believe that the UI is active and running, it's just not being displayed

I had a similar problem (as well as a previous problem with the class unlocking videos causing black screen within the guildmaster version). A previous workaround was to manually delete the videos (and this might still work but I'm unsure where the new videos are located). I believe the issue is that Windows Media Player needs to be installed and possibly also needs to be the default video player? In any case I am using Windows 10 Pro N so did *not* have Media Player activated/installed. I activated/installed the "Media Feature Pack" (in Windows settings->apps & features->optional features). Works fine now.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's not installed on my PC, but nor is there an option to do so.

Did you manage to find a solution? If so, would you be kind enough to share? I still haven't managed to get it going.

Hmm, I tried the "MediaPackSolution", but that didn`t fix the problem for me. Do I need a Win10-System now with the Release for the Campaign?
Played all the time (400h+ and it's still working in Guildmaster-Mode) with a Win7/64-System.
(And really WinMediaPlayer? - Baah that kills the cat....)

I have the same problem, guildmaster works but campign is just a black screen. Verified files, reinstalled the game, everything else is normal.

Some users can't run the game's movies. The workaround is to delete the video files located under SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Gloomhaven\GH_Data\StreamingAssets\Movies

Same issue, but I'd rather not delete the movies to play the campaign :/ I can play the movies in the folders without issue.

Yep can confirm this is a workaround - I watched it outside the game then renamed it to GH_CP_Intro.mov.old. I got a couple of seconds of black screen, then it seemed to kick into live into the party creation tutorial/guide.

Not again! I have the same problem with Atom and because of that missed the game :(

I use Win 10 but there is no Media Feature Pack at all? Windows Media Player is installed and runs as standard.

Any advice. I really don't want to play without the videos.

Edit: So i try to install the Media Pack Feature, but i'm totally confused, because my Version is 10.0.19043 (at least that is what is written under Systemninfo).

The Microsoft Page is telling something about a 1903 Version, and after that Number you have to go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps and features > Optional features > Add a feature, and then locate Media Feature Pack.

But there is no Media Feature Pack shown?

Well this just.... sucks.

I have Media Player installed. Latest Nvidia driver (496.13) Win 10 on:

Nvidia 3080
32GB RAM
Intel Optane 900P 480GB

3440x1440 100Hz monitor.
