Is multiplayer still broken?
Brother-in-law and I have been tempted to check this game out but are hesitant due to the negative reviews about multiplayer/coop thanks in advance!

It's early access, so there are definitely some bugs, but it's certainly not "broken". My friends and I have been playing a 4p guildmaster scenario for weeks. We get the occasional desynchronization error, but aside from that it's good times for all.

We play at 3 and we got a desynch error every hours in average.
A job 'Civil war' seems broken. We did it twice and got a corrupted save each time. Others were unable to reconnect to the game and the owner has to finish it alone.

Playable but a real pain in Multiplayer.

It is worth hitting the trello bug page before playing a multiplayer to see what combinations are know to cause problems and avoid them until they get fixed.

it absolutely is broken for multiplayer when you have to quit for the night because your constantly getting desynch over and over again. Multiple days this is happening.

Please don't say its not broken. You might not be experiencing the constant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but others are.

I play lots of co-op games. State of Decay 2 with 3 other people, Dying light 1 with 2 other people, Farcry 5 and Farcry new dawn without ANY disconnects or desynch issues. It is clearly and exclusively on their end and while its in EA "yeah thats what everyone uses to excuse crappy programming/bugs/fix delays etc" they are releasing new content INSTEAD of fixing a problem that is at least for me getting steadily worse.

I really wish people like you who kiss dev @ss, defend devs because YOU aren't having the problem would give more of a crap about the other players or do you want this game to die due to their inattention to a serious issue and watch people leave the game in droves. That is happening to Mount & Blade 2 which I also own and won't play it until its at the very earliest.

My friends and I are also played with fairly regular player kicks and desynchs - latest attempt was running a scenario where an altar would summon demons. Well, on one of our screens it summoned a fire demon and the others an earth demon - you can only imagine what fun it was to navigate the rest of that scenario until the game crapped itself and just gave up ...
I tried playing last week and ran into a repeatable bug, we tried to play the very first available multiplayer mission in guild mode and each time one of us would long rest we desynced. For me, the host, I got the indication that the other player needed to discard a card and then nothing. After the third attempt we gave up.

So we recently unlocked the two mini class and any command action used there is no option to control the move. it has completely broken our 4p game

The game is in early access, so there are going to be bugs, especially as they churn out new features.

I am typing this as my friends and I are playing a co-op scenario. We're 90 minutes in and have so far had 1 desynch issue that caused us to have to restart a multiplayer session and then restart the round (not scenario). 90 seconds of inconvenience for 90 minutes of fun.

I'm certainly not "kiss[ing] dev @ass". Sure, the game has it's problems, but it is still a fun experience that my friends and I play regularly without major issues. I've played many Early Access games with significantly worse bugs that actually make the game unplayable. This one has minor to moderate inconveniences.

I really wish people like you who expect perfection from an Early Access game would just stop playing and come back when the full game is released. The rest of us are happy to be able to play through the development phase and are excited to be able to help fine-tune the game into its final product.

Yes, because I am so asking for perfection. SORRY if I think having multiplayer working so people can actually play the F***ing game with their is important. Again I have played many co-op games. Clearly you are not having the issues many other people so its easy for you to stick for the devs... btw how long should a game be in EA before it doesn't SUCK or have tons of issues.

As long as it needs to.

I would argue that the game doesn't suck. It's actually quite fun. It has a few bugs that temper the play experience, but that is to be expected with an EA game.

This game hasn't even been in EA for that long. Unlike a lot of games out there, they have put it a detailed roadmap and are actually proceeding on schedule. This studio has a reputation of putting out quality digital board game adaptations, so I'm not sure why you're worried about them abandoning this project.

If you don't want to deal with the bugs, don't play it. The full version of the game is scheduled to be released by the end of the year, so you won't have to wait that long.

Um first of all I never once said they would abandon the game. I said if they don't get the multiplayer working people WILL LEAVE, please try learn. I would be fine with a few bugs but when you can't even play a few turns with your friends without being dc'd I call that more than just a minor annoyance.

I also looked up the dev and I believe this is their 2nd pc game.... so um yeah. Dude just back down, your argument is crap, lots of other people are having problems its not just me, I am just more willing to go after the dev for it.

We very rarely get errors. I guess we are lucky. I play with 2 different groups. One group has had issues, but not a lot. In my opinion, this game is super fun and you should get it. :P

Flaming Fowl was previously Lionshead Studios, which made the Fable and Black and White games. This is indeed the second game that they made under their current name, but they're hardly new to video game development, having released several successful games in the past.

You might be having major problems with the game, but a lot of people are not. People generally don't flock to a message board to post about all the problems they're not having, so it's no surprise that we're only hearing from the ones that are.

You CAN play a few turns with your friends without being disconnected, which is exactly the experience that I am currently having with the game. Just because you and several others are having problems, don't assume that everyone is.

Damn dude, I never once said that everyone is having the problems I and others are having. You seriously need to get your eyes checked also I have been disconnected EVERY TURN in a mission before so again you need to stop assuming and you need to stop putting words in people's mouths.

So what % of people having this problem is enough for you to start criticizing the devs because clearly you have trouble listening to the fact that many people are having problems. Is 50% high enough for you to give a damn?

Also how dare people who are having problems post it on the forums, how dare we want a game even an EA one to work decently. Shame on us for criticizing your dev GAWDS, we should be thankful for what we have. In fact we should be so thankful for this buggy pile that we should give them even more money. How much would you say, $100 dollars to such wonderful people? (according to you anyways)

I would love to hear you go on about how great and wonderful the devs are but I have to get back to NOT playing the game until it works better just like I did and am doing with Mount and Blade 2, I rip those devs also for their horrible crap.
