I'm aware of this, but some of the missions have monsters that are (even at lower levels) going to mulch lower level teams (demons, golems ect). That and the time it takes to get to level 3 or 4 is more than a little boring with the time it takes to do each mission.
While kitting them out to the nines does help, it doesn't really reduce the time it takes to do each mission ect.
There are no monsters that are going to mulch low level teams. Monsters all have a level as well, and lower level monsters are easier than higher level monsters.
I've faced almost every monster at level 1, and level 7. There are monsters that suck, yes...but not ones that are going to auto wipe a party of 1's.
Eh, I had a different experience when playing the board game.
I'll try running things with a level 9 and all level 1s, The issue is that missions only give exp once and so I'll mostly be trying to build exp farms off cards. Though this still doesn't get round my primary problem of it taking forever to get things up to a level where I'm not running grind missions.
If you find playing the game boring, then maybe this isn't the right game for you?
Perhaps there is a mod where you can just skip to level nine for all mercs, or something like that.
It sounds like you have played the board game. (I have not.) My understanding of how the campaign works is that you have a town prosperity level, and as that goes up you get to start new character classes at higher levels immediately. I assume that functionality will be included in the campaign when the game hits v1.0, but until then, maybe this is a chance to learn how the characters play at a lower level.
I love the game, its a case of 'I have played it a lot and know what I like.' I've played most characters from low levels to high, and found that there are several characters that I just don't like playing at specific levels.
You've got the things that function in the board game down pretty accurately, My current solution is to load the characters up with the cards that give xp and just burn through them as fast as I can before abandoning scenario, it feels cheesy but it'll do. As for the Mod, I considered it but the problem is some mods mess with things that prevent you from going back to normal gameplay.
