In the Campaign mode, there is no respec option just like the physical board game. You can create a duplicate of the character to make new choices, but they will have their own gold pool, enhancements, personal quest, and can only start at a level less than or equal to Gloomhaven's wealth (just like the board game).
Click the top right corner while you have a mercenary's hand open in the map screen, then click bottom right corner to reset mercenary. This removes and refunds all enhancements, and resets the cards and perks, putting the mercenary back to level one. All XP is preserved, as is the count of bonus perks.
Items remain bound to the mercenary, though potions will be unequipped beyond the first.
You can now re-level the mercenary, making new card and perk choices.
Alternatively, if you don't re-level, the mercenary will be level one for difficulty calculation purposes.
You won't be able to reset your mercenary in campaign mode.
