"You can press L to bring up line of sight"
I saw this in a loading hint after playing the game several hours. That's several hours too late. It should be part of the tutorial. I'm pretty sure it wasn't.

Granted, the LOS tool is kind of crappy. It would be much better if you pressed it while hovering over a hex and then it highlighted that hex one color and all the hexes that were in LOS of it another color.

I tried the line of sight and didn't understand how it worked at all. Just a bunch of lines bouncing around.

when you hover over a hex and press L, all the white lines are the areas that are line of sight from the hovered hex.. if you see red, then you can't see/hit that area

Yeah, it's not great. You start out with the "shooter" and hold down L. The you move the mouse to where the "target" would be. If you see any white lines entering that hex, then the shooter has LOS to the target. The lines don't play well with the scenery, with some of them getting covered up. I'd much rather they did it a different way but once you get used to this it's functional.

I haven't used it but it sounds like it would be good if, when you hovered over a cell, the tool highlighted all cells that are within line of sight of that cell (similar to move highlighting).

Yep, that's what I was suggesting at the end of my first post. Seems logical.

I just tested this function for the first time. Horrible implementation. :D

It looks to me like they just made the game's internal LOS checker visible. Probably this was originally more of debugging tool than a user aid. I hope they eventually upgrade it, but I didn't even know it existed until I read this comment thread. I wouldn't consider this a high priority item.

I honestly think this client is PERFECT. Except for one thing, the horrible Line of Sight tool. LInes don't get broken up by walls, so what's the point? And then some other red lines appear and they make zero sense. I believe it is NOT working as intended, but if it is, then I need it explained like I am 5. I know the tabletop version very well so I can figure out LoS, but friends were trying to not ask me every time and use the tool, and that's only more confusing. I really wonder what's up with this tool. Hopefully they'll patch it at some point.
