Then you need to set up brute with empowered Skewer (air infuse with leaping cleave the turn before) that will negate most armor. Adding a couple rolling +3pierce cards to your deck also helps. The other combo is the one where you attack for the number of spaces you've moved, using a Move4+boots or blink cape can get you an easy 6-8 hit, usually one-shotting the vermlings. Poison dagger and jagged sword are solid here too.
Spellweaver should have wounds to drop on them, and wound cards to use, as well as a late game true damage attack (infuse light to hit target for 4 and adjacent for 2).
Using goggles or str ring + power potions also does the trick most times on 3+ attacks, for both chars.
