Vermling Shamans
Suggestions on dealing with these suckers and their 3 shields reliably. I made due in one fight by using an item to wound one and another I used the brute's hook card to pull onto trap. Do I just need to bring more cards that have 4 or more damage just for them?

You’ve worked out two of the methods yourself; wound and traps. The others are pierce (the Brute has Trample, for instance) and poison (+1 damage on attacks is equivalent to -1 shield). Power potions are good too.

I don't know what classes are you playing so... But Scoundrel has cards that can kill normal enemies no matter how much health+shields they have, Tinkerer has cards to enhance attacks from allies and of course what they've already told you: poison/wounds/pierce.

Cragheart got some cards that deal true damage, in case you got one in your team, he can help a bit against shielding enemies.

I find retaliation is the best way to kill high shield enemies.

Then you need to set up brute with empowered Skewer (air infuse with leaping cleave the turn before) that will negate most armor. Adding a couple rolling +3pierce cards to your deck also helps. The other combo is the one where you attack for the number of spaces you've moved, using a Move4+boots or blink cape can get you an easy 6-8 hit, usually one-shotting the vermlings. Poison dagger and jagged sword are solid here too.

Spellweaver should have wounds to drop on them, and wound cards to use, as well as a late game true damage attack (infuse light to hit target for 4 and adjacent for 2).

Using goggles or str ring + power potions also does the trick most times on 3+ attacks, for both chars.
