macOS and iOS Support
I'm part of a board gaming group that usually meets once a month or so. We just started playing Gloomhaven a couple months ago. There are 6 of us playing the game across 2 box sets. Unfortunately, for this video game version, I am done with Windows-based computers.

After 19 years of using Linux on the desktop, I've tried every incarnation of Wine for gaming, including the commercial ones, and I always just kept a Windows partition to play games on. I won't bother trying it on a Mac.

I have Parallels for work-related stuff, and I've upgraded to the latest version because of their supposed better graphics capabilities, but Skyrim ran like a slideshow, so I'm thinking that it's just as useless as Wine for gaming (and I'm a little peeved at them for what I consider to be false advertising).

I know I could create a BootCamp partition, but I just don't want to maintain a 3rd OS on my machine (after macOS and the Parallels install).

What I'm trying to say is that, unless there's a native Mac version, I'm out, which is disappointing, because I could see paying for 6 copies myself (at current pricing) to get all of my group on this, and avoid the board setup time.

I know this isn't going to be a huge game, so I understand the limited resources in play here, but the gaming world is a very different place than it was just a few years ago. Lots of people are moving on from Windows now. Half of my group doesn't even have a computer at all; they just use their phone. I read on BGG that it's up to the producers, and I have no idea what engine the game is using, so I don't have any feel for how hard it would be to port to macOS or iOS, but I wanted to throw my group's situation out as a data point for consideration when it comes to discussions about porting.

Tis the season for holding on to hope. +1 Mac for me.

+1 Mac for me. However, I am worried that their decision to make their own processors may cause some issues (ie they are moving off intel CPU). Is this a valid risk to the Mac OS versions development?

Gonna buy if there is mac support

I've been using the Steam streaming to play it on my Mac, but having to boot up a Windows machine to do so is a nuisance. Would pay extra for a Mac native version if needed :)

The game already works great (aside from the Mindthief buff bugs), so looking forward to more monsters and environments and hoping for a Frosthaven follow-up once that's out as well!

Have bought a copy, played couple of hours - game looks fantastic. But now I am fed up with wine so waiting for mac version.

Just adding my voice to the "will buy immediately if (and only if) there is a native Mac version" crowd.

+1 I already bought Gloomhaven, but don’t have a Windows PC anymore. Would love a Mac version and/or an iOS version!!

I too would buy a Mac version on Steam!

Count me in for a Mac version. Tried running it on Parallels but characters & play area are blacked out.

You guys coding this in Unity right? Should be trivial to compile us a MacOS version.

Unity development often involves using third-party libraries for Unity, many (most?) of which are not available on Mac/iOS. So this is not accurate.

This is strange to me as a developer: Why would you use these libraries and in the process eradicate much of the value Unity brings to the table?

Well the main benefit is that you have a GE. Multiplattform is great if you develop a mobile game, but why hastle with trying to port it to a plattform that has that few users? (even with Unity there will be problems and extra developing time needed) Macs are not even 10% of all PCs and those that have a real graphics card are few.

I backed this on Kickstarter and bought the steam code as part of my pledge, not realizing it's PC only!!! Gahhh! Please make a macOS version! :)
