macOS and iOS Support
I'm part of a board gaming group that usually meets once a month or so. We just started playing Gloomhaven a couple months ago. There are 6 of us playing the game across 2 box sets. Unfortunately, for this video game version, I am done with Windows-based computers.

After 19 years of using Linux on the desktop, I've tried every incarnation of Wine for gaming, including the commercial ones, and I always just kept a Windows partition to play games on. I won't bother trying it on a Mac.

I have Parallels for work-related stuff, and I've upgraded to the latest version because of their supposed better graphics capabilities, but Skyrim ran like a slideshow, so I'm thinking that it's just as useless as Wine for gaming (and I'm a little peeved at them for what I consider to be false advertising).

I know I could create a BootCamp partition, but I just don't want to maintain a 3rd OS on my machine (after macOS and the Parallels install).

What I'm trying to say is that, unless there's a native Mac version, I'm out, which is disappointing, because I could see paying for 6 copies myself (at current pricing) to get all of my group on this, and avoid the board setup time.

I know this isn't going to be a huge game, so I understand the limited resources in play here, but the gaming world is a very different place than it was just a few years ago. Lots of people are moving on from Windows now. Half of my group doesn't even have a computer at all; they just use their phone. I read on BGG that it's up to the producers, and I have no idea what engine the game is using, so I don't have any feel for how hard it would be to port to macOS or iOS, but I wanted to throw my group's situation out as a data point for consideration when it comes to discussions about porting.

I would second almost all of this. It is macOS or bust, for me, and I would love to be able to manage a solo game via computer rather than in my small living space

Is there a way to know if there will ever be a playable version of this for MAC?

“... and I have no idea what engine the game is using...”

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unity_(game_engine)

The logo comes up on a splash screen when the game starts.

At the time, I hadn't bought it. (Against sound judgement, I cobbled a PC together out of parts, and donated.) If it's Unity, then porting it to macOS (and others) should be RELATIVELY easy. The engine was designed to be cross-platform.

Same here. I will buy the game when it releases on MacOS or iOS. I am even to buy it before an actual release on MacOS/iOS if it is announced that it will be released on one of these systems.

I fully Agree.
Added to my wish-list, but won't buy if not macOS

I am also hoping for a Mac version, and will buy a copy as soon as it's available. Playing with two groups of six players each who would immediately be all in as well. Not a PC among us.

+1 for Mac purchase for my play group. I'll play in Bootcamp if necessary.

I really admire your collective interest in getting dedicated MacOS/iOS version of this when the original product doesn't look like it's anywhere near being done.
