Targeting Multiple Enemies with AOE
I was playing Cragheart and had back up ammunition on. I planned to use a ranged AOE attack to hit 2 enemies, but while I chose the 2nd target, who was within the AOE range of the 1st attack, the attack was triggered directly without double hitting the 2nd target. Should that happen or I understand the rule in the wrong way?

You choose an additional target with backup ammunition, so if you hit multiple enemies with a ranged aoe you can't use the additional target to hit any of them twice.

You can never hit the same target more than once. This is a core rule from the board game.

However, you could (for example) target 2 enemies with the AoE, and then "Add target" an additional enemy who is outside the AoE (but still within range of the attack). I've personally not encountered this exact situation yet with the Cragheart and Backup Ammunition, so I can't comment on whether this actually works or not.

The only exception to this rule that I can think of are cards like "Attack 2, Move 2, Attack 2" in which case you could use both attacks for the same enemy and cards like the living bone's "use all attacks on the same target".
Just saying so nobody that reads this gets confused.

The no double attack with multiple targets on AOE helps to explain this for me as I have attempted the same with the Cragheart. And it makes sense when you think of other cards (or enemies) that can Target multiple enemies. It takes a special ability pull for say a Living Bones to apply all attacks to the same target, otherwise if there is only one target available the 2nd (or 3rd) target has no use.

Your question is not that clear, but it sounds like you tried to hit two different enemies, not one guy twice as everyone is assuming. Both targets must be within the max range of your attack as measured from your character, not from the location of the 1st target. It's not a "chaining" attack, it's 2 separate projectiles from the point of origin. You should be able to select two enemies, then press the "Confirm Targets" button. If you accidentally double-clicked on the 1st target, you may have prematurely triggered the "confirm" shortcut, which is what double-clicking does, before you had a chance to select the second target. I don't recall if it selects 2 targets by default or just one in these situations.

I get this quite often on the Spellweaver (and yes, I am talking about separate targets and not the same target multiple times), and it is extremely frustrating. Having searched the forums, it doesn't seem to be a common problem, so I guess it must be something to do with my mouse use. It's got to the point where I've become very conscious of trying to avoid possible multiple clicks on the same target, but it still happens regularly. Wasting the extra attacks is survivable in normal adventures, but on boss fights it is somewhat ruining the game for for me. Not to mention the serious danger to my monitor of having my fist put through it as yet another multi-target card triggers prematurely.
