Loosing Levels on abandoned adventures
I am finding that I am loosing levels when I abandon a quest, sometimes I have to do this for time reasons or a bad start on the first journey. Is this working correctly as a PC game I need to walk way from it sometimes and we should not be losing levels like that.

If you just want to stop playing, you can quit without abandoning the quest and when you restart the game you'll be at the beginning of your last turn.

I suspect what might be happening with losing levels is that when you lose in a Journey you get your xp reset to whatever it was at the start of the Journey. Although the durability of your items goes down still, which is a bad feature---we should either keep all xp, gold, durability progress or lose all of it.
I agree. Just lost a journey on scenario three and I lost all gold, exp points and items. Kind of harsh.
I just did a three scenario journey. Both guys leveled up. I then went to the boss fight, which I assumed was an independent journey? I realized right when I started I didn't choose my new cards to add. So I abandoned it, and lost all the items, gold, levels from the 3 scenario journey I just completed.
I leveled up in town to level 3, then left town on a 3 scenario journey, and was defeated on the first or second encounter. I found myself back at town, but only level 2. I didn't count exp, but I don't see how I could have leveled up in town and then lost that level.
what may be happening is an arbatory exp loss???
or a bug??
My is the same Problem as Aradon. My Spellweaver lvl up in town because of finishing the Quest .Then i've lost a Szenario on hard difficult and i'm back in town without the lvl up.I think it's maybe a bug :/
The new patch supposedly changes this to not lose past rewards/levels.
What's happening is you get reset to the starting location but to the point before you received any rewards for the previous route. That's why you're suddenly unable to level up. There's also no way to gain the rewards again, so those are just lost forever. But the same thing is happening to your items and they keep their durability as the game doesn't degrade those either. So if you had lost some items upon arriving there, suddenly they are back with 1 durability.

Is this patch live yet? This happened to me yesterday, so I may be giving unnecessary information if it is already fixed.

No patch I was aware unless they did a hot fix between this morning and now. It is early access so it is annoying but I am sure it will be fixed
The patch is a beta so you have to enable beta participation in the game's properties in Steam.
Thanks for the info on the Beta. I just enabled it, and it wiped out my current party progress. Like my level 5 and 4 characters. Is that something that typically happens? Not a huge deal I guess just curious. Thanks
This has been posted on the patch forum:

"To find the Open Beta version of the game, right click on Gloomhaven in your Steam library and select properties and go to the betas tab. You should see the Open Beta build included in that dropdown list.

You can copy your save file over to the Open Beta branch if you want to resume your current progress. You’ll find your normal save files for Gloomhaven in the following folder: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\LocalLow\FlamingFowlStudios\Gloomhaven\ - you may need to enable hidden items to view this folder. You simply need to copy the core.dat file from the GloomSaves folder to the GloomSavesOpenBeta folder (this will be created after you first launch the open beta build). Assuming there are no major problems with the beta build, this will be pushed to the normal version of the game early next week and you can copy your save file back if you want to keep your progression again. "
See that I updated to the beta
I left town at level 2 having made level up choices. Next run I was defeated on the final mob of the final adventure of the run - due to bad UI design not being to tell how many spellweaver cards were where a few turns ago - and then went from like 98 xp to 40 with the level up earned on a previous run being lost.

This is NOT OK, perks / levels / gear should never, ever be lost - for any reason. Sure, maybe reset xp to the start of that particular adventure, but I'm not even sure that should happen. If doesn't in the BG, why should it apply here?
To have not only this morning play time utterly wasted but last night's too, no thanks.

There's one thing I want from a game dev, and that's to respect my time I spend playing.
First impressions so far are not good, and I was so looking forward to this.
