How do you use Potions or Weapons?

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I can't figure out how to use the power potions. I see the bag glowing on the left and when I click it I see the potion, but I can't seem to actually use it.
When the attack happens, the potion is not consumed and doesn't look used. Any suggestions?

Click it when you have the attack selected and it should be applied. The bag should go from glowing to not glowing, which unfortunately seems to be the only indicator. This is definitely something I'm hoped is improved on as early access continues. Maybe something like being able to right click on the portrait to pull up a character card similar to the physical game that has a better defined item page. It'd at least help with seeing what has/hasn't been used. For actually using them, maybe something as simple as a "confirm item use" pop up so you clearly know it is added.

Yeah, you're right. The item still appears in the bag with no indication that it's not usable again other than the lack of glowing light. Definitely not clear, so thanks for the comment. I agree it needs to be made more obvious when items are used in general.

Yeah there's a lot regarding the UI that needs to be improved. You can tell a power potion has been applied when you compare the base damage on your target before and after clicking the potion.
