[Solution] No 3D acceleration in Windows 8+

In order to have the game use 3D acceleration natively without the files below, your display resolution must be equal to or above 1600x1024. If your monitor does not support such resolutions, read below:

The lack of proper hardware acceleration for DirectDraw in Windows 8 causes Bejeweled to only work in software mode saying that your graphics card is unsupported when you try to enable 3D acceleration. Here's how to make it work in Windows 8+:

1. Download the latest version of WineD3D from here[fdossena.com].
2. Unpack the following 3 files from the archive into the game's installation directory
- ddraw.dll
- libwine.dll
- wined3d.dll

Enjoy.

Since WineD3D is in active development, the latest version may contain bugs. In that case, older versions might work better for you depending on your card. For Nvidia users 1.7.52 was the stable release, AMD users reported 1.9.21 worked for them.

Files in the archive are compiled from the latest WineD3D DirectDraw Library. This is essentially a DirectDraw emulator that translates DirectDraw calls to OpenGL.

Windows 10 with a GTX 1080Ti wasn't letting me run Bejeweled Twist properly (3D acceleration issues). I downloaded the 1.7.52 version and put the 3 dll's listed (ddraw.dll, libwine.dll, and wined3d.dll) into C:\ProgramData\PopCap Games\BejeweledTwist and it works perfect now. Kudos to everyone who helped.

At least for me, Bejeweled 3 works perfect in windows 8.1/10 x64, before with a sapphire radeon hd7850 2GB, and now with a gigabyte gtx 1050ti 4GB, without any fix or similar.
This solution works for me in bejeweled twist and zuma's revenge, unfortunately, wasn't works for me in bejeweled 2 and plants vz zombies.
I described how to do it in earlier comments.

The fix with wine works, but the three archives must be placed not in the game directory, must be placed where popcapgame1.exe is created, for example, 'bejeweled twist' starts and popcapgame1.exe appears in C:\ProgramData\PopCap Games\BejeweledTwist\, in this directory must be placed wined3d.dll, libwine.dll and ddraw.dll. For me works perfect, but works with a specific version of 'wine'. I use version 1.9.21, with other version don't works (for me at least). The file {ПОСИЛАННЯ ВИЛУЧЕНО}here.
I tried with zuma´s revenge and other two popcap games and works too, with the same procedure.

I hope that works for nvidia users too.

Steam doesn't create a Popcap folder when it installs the game. Just the folder within SteamApps that has all the content. Tried to place the files in there and nothing worked unfortunately.

Steam > steamapps > common > Bejeweled 3 - paste the files in this folder

the issue to this patch is that when bejeweled 3 says "do you want to enable 3D Acceleration?"
when it restarts it disables it again. To fix this someone needs to reprogram it to not restart to enable 3D acceleration.

Hi Friend. Again, the three files must be placed in the directory when "popcapgame1.exe" is created when the game stars, the directory is c:\programdata\popcap games\bejeweled3.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. I'm sorry but I can't seem to find any 'Program Data' folder in the C:\ ? Only Program Files and Program Files (x86)
