Could you, please, try the 1.7.40 version from here[sourceforge.net] and see if it works for you?
Remember, you only need to copy 3 files from the archive:
ddraw.dll
libwine.dll
wined3d.dll
My system:
Intel i7-4790
16GB RAM
Nvidia GTX970 with WHQL 353.30
Monitor: 28" ASUS at 1920x1080 through Display Port
I tried the suggestion in the first post put it didn't allow 3D Acceleration to be enabled. I did some searching and found a couple references to the game needing DVI out and not HDMI or DIsplay Port. Here is one post: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?s=c2c09daedf2f2e07f1ee1f557b0b8001&p=29229686&postcount=5
It's nothing I've verified because I'm not going to switch back to DVI from Display Port just to make the game work in higher graphics mode. Has anyone with a confirmed fix also gone has output through Display Port or HDMI?
I would still like to find a workaround
GTX 770 & AOC I2757FM
Your resolution is 1080p, the game should work with hardware acceleration without any fixes for you. If it doesn't it might be the Display port, but I didn't hear reports of it not working before. Doesn't it work for you without the fix?
After I switched to a FullHD display I've removed the fixes since they're not needed at 1080p resolution. Using HDMI out also and a GTX 660 Ti.
This test was made in my pc, and i think that the processor and other hardware not influence in the bug, the only influence is windows and the GPU driver, however, i include my hardware.
MB: Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0
Proc: AMD FX 8350 Octa-Core 4 Ghz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB kit 1600Mhz
HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA100
GPU: AMD Radeon HD7850 2GB OC Edition
Sound Card: Asus ROG Xonar Phoebus
I think that the other hardware is not relevant.
If anyone with this information can help us, we will be grateful.
PD: Sorry for bad english :p.
PD2: Attached screenshots of the game
With AMD Driver[k61.kn3.net]
With Windows default driver[k61.kn3.net]
"The game doesn't work with 3d acceleration because your system is using 8gb of ram. Before I upgraded from 4gb to 8gb of RAM Bejeweled Twist and Zuma's Revenge's 3d acceleration worked flawlessly. Here's how to play it with 3d acceleration but you have to restart your computer every time you want to play it in 3d acceleration mode.
1.Type Windows Key + R.
2.You will see the run program.
3.Type msconfig.
4.You will see the system configuration program.
5.Go to the boot tab.
6.Click on Advanced Options
7.Check Maximum memory.
8.Change the number to 4096.
9.Click OK.
This will set your system to use 4gb of RAM so make sure theres not much background tasks so your RAM isn't filled up and crashes the computer."
This is taken from another site and it works on my computer.
Hi. Did you read my comment completely? On windows 7 x64 the game runs perfect with 3d acceleration. On Win 8/10 x64 with AMD Driver the 3d acceleration is disabled, however, zuma's revenge with some changes in the compat.cfg runs perfect with 3d acceleration, but bejeweled twist still run without 3d acceleration, but, if i uninstall or not install the AMD Driver, and the default windows vga driver is present and running, bejeweled twist runs with 3d acceleration. So, 8GB of ram not is the problem here. Please read better my comment and view the screenshots attached.
SO: Windows 10 Pro x64
MB: Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0
Proc: AMD FX 8350 Octa-Core 4 Ghz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB kit 1600Mhz + Kingston Hyper X Fury 1600 Mhz 2x8GB (upgraded recently) in total: 24GB of RAM
HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA100
GPU: AMD Radeon HD7850 2GB OC Edition
Sound Card: Asus ROG Xonar Phoebus
The fix with wine works, but the three archives must be placed not in the game directory, must be placed where popcapgame1.exe is created, for example, 'bejeweled twist' starts and popcapgame1.exe appears in C:\ProgramData\PopCap Games\BejeweledTwist\, in this directory must be placed wined3d.dll, libwine.dll and ddraw.dll. For me works perfect, but works with a specific version of 'wine'. I use version 1.9.21, with other version don't works (for me at least). The file {BAĞLANTI SİLİNDİ}here.
I tried with zuma´s revenge and other two popcap games and works too, with the same procedure.
I hope that works for nvidia users too.
