Leader Boards - Are they still active?

I ask because I see my name advancing, but everyone else has stayed the same rank forever.

Which leaderboard are you looking at? Friends leaderboard is the one that shows at the end of a game and the way it is designed is weird. It shows your High score and your friends', but then also shows any high scores you achieved that are lower than your high score, but better than your friends', so in my case due to many attempts to get certain achievements, friend leaderboards are filled with my name.

Yeah the one in game, however, I only have two friends on steam and it's filled with names. That's a drag because a global Steam leader board would be way more fun for me.

Even when the game was newly released, the leaderboards that show in-game (both after you end a game and available from 'records' on the main screen) have always shown only native scores from people who have played on that computer, whatever user profiles are made in the game.

The other names are always the same and start out with the same ranks that you then surpass as you play. (Thus the perfect round numbers of thousands or tens of thousands.) They aren't actually reflecting the score of any real players. (Though I always supposed the names may be from developers or Popcap staff at the time.)

If you have friends who have the game and submit scores, they will show up on the leaderboard.

In the first example, I have two friends and they both show up on the leaderboard.
In the second example, it demonstrates why it is stupid to record both local and online scores simultaneously, I see my friend's best attempt, but then the rest of the leaderboard is dominated by my attempts due to achievement hunting.

Thanks everyone, there are games on Steam with Steam player global leader boards and they're very challenging, I wish Bejeweled was one of them as it's a great old game. Thanks again...

Before I played bejeweled on steam, I was actually pretty active on facebook and it had a community that would just add each other and that way you could have an active friends leaderboard.
I for one wouldn't mind if people on here would add me just to have a look at what other people on this game score.

That's a good idea, not that I'm all that great at high scores in bejeweled, nor do I play it everyday, but I pretty much quit playing once I found I was only playing against myself.

One thing that I'm noticing is that, after reinstalling the game a couple of days ago, the leaderboards starting using my Steam name (ChainsawGenie) rather than the one I use in-game (Warewolf).
It doesn't appear to affect my ranking/advancement in the game but I'm still wondering if it can be fixed. *shrug*

If you have used multiple names it will put your highest score to your steam name which will be compared to your friends on steam. Scores below that should only be seen locally if you switch in game names.
