Access violation errors mean that the game either tried to act on memory it didnt have the permission to, or failed to allocate the memory.
Basically its your computer's problem. If you have an antivirus or anything, try disabling it and see if it works. If it's not that, your computer may just not be able to run it, for example having not enough RAM to use.

Edit- and now it's giving that same Fatal error again so now I can't even play in windowed mode
2nd Edit- OK it's a known problem (http://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Bejeweled-Games/Bejeweled-3-Error-Unable-to-Play/m-p/3750097/highlight/true#M54}
A partial solution is offered and an explanation that seems to blame old monitors which might explain it as I am using a Samsung LCD 1360X768 HD ready (so that means it's 720p) what about uyou guys are you using an oldish monitor. I'll try it on my smart TV tommorow

Brand new Acer Aspire laptop with windows 10, worked perfectly first time and I left to do some work. Come back to unlock the laptop and start my second session when this happens. It flickers as though it's rescaling the resolution and then the error message appears. Seriously bummed I only got 2 hours of gameplay out of this :( and re-install didn't help.
with each attempt this line keeps changing

I've had
at address 0076AF6E in thread 151C
at address 0076AF6E in thread 1DE8
at address 0076AF6E in thread 430
and so on and so on
This however solved the problem
Really wished there was a better way.
