It is somewhat playable, but not ideal.
It will not autodetect and function ideally out of the box. You can however go into the config tool and map all the analog axes and buttons of the deck to the controls you would like them to be, and then it will work fairly well. It's a good idea to map one of the touchpads to being a mouse.
The biggest negative is, the way Scav handles keyboard inputs absolutely cannot see the onscreen keyboard on the Deck whatsoever. You won't be able to type anything. So, you'll be stuck with the default ship names, the default character names, and the default module names. None of this blocks your ability to play or complete the game, but it is a bummer with no workaround.
You'll need to turn the graphics settings down a bit, because with all the simulation math going on behind the scenes and rendering the world for both the player's eyes and the rover's cameras, framerate has always been an ongoing challenge.
Glad to hear it's been of use and that you've been enjoying it.
