Few AI questions and some general observations
Hi again.

I played few matches so far, and I can now freely say that Full Ace Tennis is by far the most rewarding tennis sim out there. Fantastic gameplay, and you are very much in control. AO Tennis 2 has much better presentation, sounds and visuals, but gameplay is way off, it feels like playing with a plastic ball instead of a tennis ball.

Anyways, I have couple of questions about some AI stats, the influence of the stats how AI play. So in general, what these mean:

Reaction? The higher the reaction, player will hit faster balls more easily?

S&V 1st and 2nd serve? Is this the stat how often AI player will run towards the net?

Aggressiveness? How this compare with the aggressiveness setting in he gameplay menu?

Inside Out FH? I don't understand this stat at all.


Also I noticed that there are no statistics at all regarding rallies during the match. It would be nice adding longest rally/last rally numbers into the match statistics, as well how much both players run during the last point (in meters).

I created the player in the career mode, and since I want to start as a rookie, it has average stat at 44. So if I play enough matches and advance enough through career, can stats grow, say to match ATP top 20 players (around 75-80 for example)? And how the stats grow usually?


Last, but not least, I started to create my own high quality soundpack for the game, and I noticed that FA MOD patch came with many sounds, but I can confirm that few sounds doesn't work, and the game is using default sounds. It seems that "bounce.ogg" is not used at all, and the game is using only the sound files with the number in the file name, such as "bounce_01.ogg", or "fault_01.ogg", etc etc. Does that mean that the game is using some rules for calling sound files? Where I can find those rules? The game didn't came with any User Guide, regarding above mentioned AI stats and sound files.

Any help is appreciated.

As per your questions :
* Reaction is related to how fast the character is able to read the opponent's ball and react to it.
* S&V stats are related to how often character will serve & volley on 1st and 2nd serve.
* Aggressiveness is how prone the character is to try to force the rally win instead of waiting for the opponent to make a mistake. Aggressiveness in the gameplay menu is similar but applying overall.
* Inside Out FH is how prone the character is to run around to hit a forehand when the ball comes to his backhand.

There is no user guide shipped with the game but some Steam discussions include or point to relevant information.

Regarding your query about modding sounds, sometimes the game changes the way it accesses some files, and old files that used to work are not removed when creating new mod versions while becoming useless.
Filenames ending in _01 usually mean that the game will handle variations being used randomly when adding _02, _03, etc... variants.

I noticed a blue line below all the player stats. Is that the player growth line? How it works? Does player stat is raised by 1 when that blue line fills to the end?

Just wondering, does the player stat grow only after played matches, or also when you skip a week for example?

Every week as pro players are supposed to train even when they don't compete. Hopefully career mode can be fleshed up in the future where training schedule would be managed by game user.
