is that the case?
Absolutely not. In actual history (not Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which is fiction), he was assassinated by followers of an enemy of his who had tried to conspire against him and remove him from power, but Sun Ce had him executed.
According to some stories (none of which are very credible, since the person in question would have been over a hundred years old at this point), he did kill a Taoist claiming to have magical powers, but this was because he didn't believe in magic (and he was right) and because mystics had started multiple rebellions by misleading the people.
