Can't run three kingdoms!

Hello my fellow players!
Major fan of the Total War Series (ever since the very first Shogun!).
Bought Three Kingdoms some time ago, hoping to enjoy yet another fantastic game.
Unfortunately the game gets stuck on the very first entry screen!
Though my laptop specs were enough, but now not so sure it's the specs or some bug.
I run my game on an Asus N53S laptop (6gb RAM, I7 2670QM 2.2Ghz, Geforce GT 2 GB).
Any thoughts?

make sure update all software, close all background softwares when launch the game, check heat, if I recall that laptop is 10 years old spec. and it's not designed for gaming , after years of uses your laptop probably needs a good clean and upgrade. beyond that you probably think about get a new laptop or pc , xmas sales is coming up.
