How to get Three Kingdoms working with Intel Arc iGPU
Hi all
I've got a new laptop with Intel Core Ultra 185H with 32Gb RAM DDR5 trying to have a go at Three Kingdoms with the Arc iGPU. According to https://www.notebookcheck.net/Total-War-Three-Kingdoms-Laptop-and-Desktop-Benchmarks.428193.0.html I should be able to run that on High graphics setting with 40+ fps. But I find that I can barely run Medium at 40 fps, and Three Kingdoms detects my iGPU as something weird as "Intel Arc(TM) Graphics (800 MB)".

Does anyone else running Arc iGPU suffers from the same problem as I and does anyone have any tips? Thanks in advance.

You might not have the correct driver support to play this game on that GPU. This could also be both an Intel Arc issue and a CA issue. Buying this game might have been a mistake for that laptop. In hindsight (which is easy to say now) it would have been better to get a laptop with a NVIDIA GPU. They have the best drivers.

It's prolly a silly idea, but you might try the Warhammer III board, but be honest and describe the issue as it is. They know the circumstances about 3K and such, but it still has the highest support and player, who might have an idea or solution.

I guess it's a software/detection issue, which could probably be fixed...but chances are next to zero for 3k.

Just some random google shows up similar issues accross the board in several games....
just saying.

edit: WIII has become a bit troll-ey lately, though. Might be better to use the official board instead....

This is the best idea I've heard so far. Thanks! I'll try that

I'm afraid what you get is what you have with the the Arc iGPU.
Especially with 3K, it sounds about right and more unlikely you'll get any further improvement. It's just the nature of Intel integrated GPU that doesn't compete equally with an NVIDIA/AMD dedicated gpu.
