Windows defender detects a trojan in "Total War THREE KINGDOMS\data\variants.pack".
Trojan:Win32/Casdet!rfn
defender blocks the game from launching I assume.
EDIT : screenshots from game and windows defender

it seems this file is a virus? Windows defender keeps detecting it every time I finish my download.
Reddit thread
I just sent a request to SEGA support, if they answer I'll post it here.
Dear Customer,
thank you for contacting SEGA Support your patience n this case.
We have received information that Windows Defender had an update and falsely detected files as dangerous.
We can reassure you, that the game does not contain a virus. You can try to isolate the file to install the game.
Please note, that the isolation of the file can interfere with the game.
Alternatively, you can exclude the Steam folder from Windows Defender.
Best Regards,
Anna
