Total War: THREE KINGDOMS

Total War: THREE KINGDOMS

Statistiche:
Which edition should I buy?
Are the dlc of this game worth it? What are peoples' recommendation?
Messaggio originale di Salamarder:
Don't buy any DLCs yet. If you have the base game only you still have a full experience in the 190 start date. DLCs can do 2 things: Unlock factions (which is AI controlled and present even if you do not own the DLC), and unlocking new starting dates. I think the best DLC is A World Betrayed, where you unlock the 194 start date. 182 and 200 start dates are niche or buggy. Faction unlocks are not reccomended for first timers. The yellow turban remants are laughably hard to play as, and they are kinda left behind during patches. Furious Wild is a good, but expensive DLC which lets you play as the Nanmans in the south, they are fun but only if you have played the basic Han factions.

If the base game suck you in, you will buy all DLCs anyway, because they all have some value to them.

Nope, just buy the base game and go from there.
May I ask what's wrong with the dlc?
Hey, I also just bought the game. I read some of the reviews for the DLC-packages and went ahead and bought the Yellow Hat one. Seemed to have the most positive reviews and was also cheap.
Emperor edition
All dlc's have their own story and new challenges

Personally, if you have already played the core game, get the latest DLC with the tribes. It is my favourite. Cool units to play and new mechanics. I had a lot of fun with Lady Zhurong and Mulu.
You deffinitely want to get The Yellow Turbans and A world betrayed.

I got 2500 hours out of the base game. I do have Yellow Turbans, but I got that for free on the first week of the game launch. Just play the base game for a few hundred hours first and then buy the DLC later if you get bored easily.

Excellent discussion guys. I'm downloading it now and look forward contributing to future discussions:steamthumbsup:
I like the Lu Bu DLC.
Least interesting DLC: 8 kings and Naman DLCs
Base game and Mandate of heaven for gameplay without mods.
(Mandate of heaven is very unique in terms of gameplay compare to other DLCs, but due to this it is not compatible with most mods)

Emperor edition for gameplay with mods.
(Recommended to buy when on sales which is quite common)

If you're into individual heroism, you can buy the DLC that includes Lu Bu. If I remember correctly, that DLC was called a world betrayed.:Mirro_love:
