Change faction name to Han/ Jin Empire?

Is it possible as a faction to gain enough land/ prestige that your faction name changes to Han Empire (or Jin Empire for Eight Princes)? I know certain factions won't like Yellow Turbansn, Nanman tribes, the Coalition factions, etc. But like, if I'm playing a faction within the Han Empire grouping, can I form/ merge with the Han Empire faction (or playing any of the Eight Princes, form/ merge with the Jin Empire faction) and get the name change?

You can become the Han Empire. Normally, when you accumulate enough prestige to hit the rank of "king" you just become emperor of your own dynasty, like "Kingdom of Wei". But if you control the Han emperor when that happens you can opt to restore the Han dynasty and your faction leader will be Liu Xie, your name and flag will change accordingly.
You won't merge automatically with the other Han Empire (so there may be two identical factions), but usually they will love you so much that you can confederate the right away.

Also, technically, when Liu Bei becomes king his faction name and flag changes to (Shu) Han.

As for the Jin empire, I'm afraid not.

Nooo! I was wanting to play Sima Yue and become the Jin! 😭

You can create Jin faction in base game,by making Sima Yi in charge of a province and giving him independence or get him as your faction leader,but it only works until duke rank

Is that a faction the AI plays as or could you abandon Cao Cao's faction and play as this new Jin faction? And I assume it's something you could do in the 182, 190, 192, and 194 start dates?

AI if independence or civil war,and player if heir. You can do it with any coalition faction,any date work, just need to get Sima Yi, make him heir,kill current faction leader and faction name will change to Jin,work only on marquis and below.On king or duke it will be original name(wei for cao cao,shu for liu bei)
