Not reinforcing?
So many times i have an army right next to another army (can't get any closer) and they get attacked and don't reinforce each other.

Is there a way to tell if they will reinforce, or am i missing something?

its called night attack or ambush by zhang yan; just look at their retinue and see if any archers have fire arrows, if they do they have night attack, which prevent reinforcement.

ok could have been night attack, i'll have to see that next time. It was just happening multiple times over different campaigns so i was wondering what the issue was. Thanks though.

If you hover your mouse over an army or town you can see a little circle around them that shows reinforcement range
That's the one thing I don't quite get myself, Is there an icon which shows that your army can reinforce???

yes, if you click on an enemy army, then hover over yours, you should see a green arrow that shows the possible supporting reinforcements, night attacks forbid reinforcements on both sides.

Yeah, I'm aware of the green arrow, I meant reinforcing on defense not offense.

same applies on defense, if you are in range, again the night attack ignore this, or the male bandit faction special rule.

wait, so as long as I have a strategist with me, I can initiate fights at night that can be supported by my reinforcements but the enemy can't?

strategist doesnt gaurentee night fight, look at your officers skills, blue/yellow//purple have night fight capabilities if they have that fire arrow/night fight skill set.

unless you are in a siege, your army will sail out with reinforcements while they only have the army besieging your city.

to be more specific : Each army with night battle ability can reinforce another during night battle.

I have seen this issue as well. The enemy attacks, I can't reinforce despite being next to each other, however the computer armies can reinforce one another in battle. It might be the night attack feature or a but, it's difficult to tell. Thanks for posting about this issue.

I think also the stance effects it. But not sure. Seems that if you force march, your army reinforces attacks, but does not on defense, but not sure about it.
