Total War Three Kingdoms or Thrones of Britannia + Troy?
I don't have a special interest in these periods covered in history, but I like the three games, although I can't purchase all of them right now. I purchased a new laptop, I need a laptop because of mobility and I spent a lot of money on it. What would be a better purchase: Three Kingdoms or Thrones of Britannia + Troy? The laptop specs as follow:

MSI GE75 2020 Edition
CPU: Intel Core i7 10750H (2.60 GHz base to 5.00 GHz turbo, 6 cores, 12 MB cache)
Hard Drives: 1 TB hard drive + 512 MB SSD
RAM: 32 GB DDR4 @ 2,666 MHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB DDR6

I will play mostly: Empire, Napoleon, Shogun 2 + FoTS, Rome 2 and in a lesser extent Attila + the option you consider the best in this question.

Thanks!

troy is a good choices if your into a perfect balances of warhammer and troy only issue is im not sure how supported it is by this i mean yes it does have dlc and added more into the map and game play only issue is no matter what troy will fight you if your a greek even if your fighting other greeks visersa. thrones of britannia is a good game with alot of new function but people didnt like realistic feel on it 1 year is 12 turns to get elite units it can take half the year same with restoring troops. and the devs stop updating the game sad it could have been good but warhammer fan bois didnt want it and Tw fan thought it lacked content. three kingdom is good tho only issue would be the mulitplayer and the inability to be modded i belive but im not sure. also you never really live the three kingdom you start on the dates the lead to the build up living certain charaters events but you never actually have the historical three klngdom. in short its a medival with op generals and arty and no assasintions or merchants or ships

3K is the best of these games, by far.

I like Thrones, but it's much smaller in scale with far less content. If you want what many people consider a "true historical" game, Thrones is the best on this list, as it features generals with bodyguards and fairly slow-paced fights with great sieges. Troy and 3K both feature larger-than-life single-entity generals. It's not unlike Shohun 2 in that it has very few mechanics, but they work pretty well. Other games in the series often suffer from unbalanced feature bloat.

If you like meaningful diplomacy, city-building and campain mechanics Three Kingdoms is the way to go. It's great if you like economic and political depth but bad if you just want a classical "make money, build armies and fight battles" Total War.

I haven't played much Troy, so I can't say much about it.

Thanks! But when Troy will be released here on Steam? As I didn't have enough computer to play it when released on Epic, I missed the opportunity. Besides, having games in 2 different platforms is not something I love too. I am patient, I can't wait. Many options, hard to decide...

As far as I'm aware of, Troy is an Epic Game exclusive. Thus a release date on Steam is unlikely.

Indeed it is. Didn't know. Most likely, it seems it will come out then ?
Your question should be answered by someone else better informed than me.

On a side note, I have like... 0 interest in both Britannia and Troy (being Saga titles and context/period era), so I can't tell you if 3K is better.
I like 3K, I feel it's the best Total War (EDIT : I've seen) in what it wanted to convey (city building, army management, diplomacy, Guanxi, ... ~ I like the UI as well !)

Variety and replayability aren't its strong point however (which are totally on Warhammer's side) ~ but considering all the previous TW you played, I don't think it will be an issue.

Thank you!. I am concerned, however, how much it would be considering DLCs. I yet have to study it but I took a quick look at Steam and Three Kingdoms have such a high amount of DLCs, the complete game should be something like >100$

Most of the DLCs add nothing to the base game, however. If you play the 190 start (the main start) and choose one of the main factions (I would strongly recommend doing so), none of the DLC adds anything except for Fates Divided which adds 5 unique units to Cao Cao and Yuan Shao each. Personally I would recommend playing the game without DLCs at first, you will miss out on nothing. If you like the game and want more playable factions from other cultures or different start dates you can pick up more DLCS, perhaps in a sale.

Ok, so first, just wanna say, nice machine you have there.

As far as your question goes though, that is going to be hard to answer. Based on what you have here though, I'm going to say...Three Kingdoms. Here is why:

You said that you don't want to have games across two platforms. So that pretty much rules Troy out.

With all the TW games that you have listed that you are going to play/are playing, Three Kingdoms is the only other game that does something a little bit different. In my opinion, Thrones of Britannia will feel too much like Attila or Rome 2, especially when you consider ToB is a cut down version of a mainline TW. Don't get me wrong, I love ToB, and highly recommend it. It's easy to pick up and play, but given your guidelines I won't recommend it here.

So Three Kingdoms because it is more character focused, is set in China as opposed to Europe like so many of the other TW games, and I think will overall just feel a little different for you.
