yes, since currently Korean Peninsular revealed with detailed map in game in far eastern part of the game map, so maybe CA is making Northern DLC now
Please, stay with romance of three kingdoms. This is not Total war: Korea or Shogun 3. There should be better title for Total war: Korea. I think there is 3 kingdom in Korea. But I don't know much about this period. It's probably few hundreds years after three kingdoms in China. That could be good future total war title as well.
I would like to see Total war: Mongol empire. This title is going to cover much different nation. There should be better variety of army unit, building and culture from Japan to Hungary and India to Russia. The Mongolian has the largest empire in history. It's going to take few years with massive map, culture and building for CA. I love to see the power of Mongolian horse archers in action.
The 3K of Korea occurred at around the same time the game takes place and intersects with the 3K of China as, I believe, a Warlord forces Korea into submission and Cao Cao in turn fights him after the battle of Chi Bi to consolidate his power in the north
The first contact between the chinese and the japanese (Wa at the time) happened in 108 BC. By 240, which is in the first half of the 3K period, one big kingdom won supremacy over the smaller kingdoms in Japan.
During the complete chinese three kingdoms period Korea was also in it's three kingdoms period. So yeah, they could fit multiple korean factions into an expansion for every available start date.
If I remember my Korean history correctly (I don't know it very well) there were four kingdoms in Korea at the time, but the Gaya might not have solidified yet by that point. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goguryeo%E2%80%93Wei_War#/media/File:History_of_Korea-204.png Shows Ye and Mahan, but I don't know anything about them. I don't think the Korean Three Kingdoms period (where there are really just 3 major power players) really starts until a little bit later, it is just that the three kingdoms that would become the titular Three Kingdoms already exist.
As far as I know Gaya and Mahan weren't kingdoms but confederacies of villages/city states. The city states of Gaya had monarchs though.
Dongye was a chiefdom and vassal of Goguryeo.
There is indeed a fourth kingdom in Korea during the 3K period and that is Buyeo. They were a Han vassal.
Thank you for correction.
I could be wrong since I don't know much about that. But It's better on another total war title ie Total war: Goguryeo.
Total war: Mongol Empire could cover Korea, Japan, India, Russia and so on. The Mongol empire owned the largest land in history. Mongolian horse archers always fought larger army. That'd be great for another flagship of total war. I don't think it's good idea to bring any period of China. Then it's called Total war: China, not Three Kingdoms.
