The Japanese Warring States already got 2 games, as you already mentioned. I don't see why they'll make a 3rd one anytime within the next decade.
Chinese Warring States might be a possibility if this game turns out to be good and is successful.
Total War Stone Age
Total War Jurassic
Total War All-stars i.e all Total War together. Archaon recruit Lu Bu to kill Oda Nobunaga and Augustus
Sengoku Jidai with an updated engine and the recent features we've come to enjoy though.. it would be nice.
thats what i meant :D
The Three Kingdoms deserves some love, and there are tons, and tons, and tons of strategy games, covering Medieval Knights. Turn of the Century Europe, and even France, Rome, Japan, The Huns.
I look forward to owning this game. Now, don't get me wrong, if they go from China straight to a Korea expansion and abandon other untouched civilizations, I won't be that happy. But after this first entry to the wars in ancient China... perhaps go crazy. How about America, Pre-Columbus?
I always prefer these games either Pre-Gun Powder or 'just on the cusp' unless they are fantasy. Because the game devolves to pretty much only ranged and siege and mounted ranged units from there.
Ha that sounds amazing
No need for Japan。
the influence is big, because it's just packed in all kinds of entertainment.like game ,novel,TV show, anime.
Need india now。
The part of the Sengoku Jidai that most people care about were dominated by clans, but most importantly, the clan leaders and daimyos. their relationships, families, and personalities are essential to the story that most of us care about (yes, the Sengoku Jidai is a lot longer than just the ending we all know). Shogun 2 was a fun game but fell flat with how it attempted to capture the essence of history. by starting in 1545, learn before most of the great daimyos, and by not focusing on characters, a lot of potential was unrealized. A Shogun 3 could improve that.
I'd love Shogun 3 to be in TW:TK style. With heroes, overall Dynasty Warriors vibe and all.
This is actually going to be tough to implement. Simply because of few things;
1. Sengoku characters were never portrayed as Godly beings in movies, dramas & literature. Even popular koei games like Nobunaga Ambition is pretty grounded.
2. Bulk of Shogun players are historical players. The problem with giving two modes will likely make the other mode redundant, just like 3K's record and romance mode. Waste of resource. Might as well focus on records for S3 since that is the majority of players.
However, I think some compromise can be made like perhaps giving more feature to groom the faction leader and the heir. If CA wants to go full blown fantasy like some have suggested. Then, I highly recommend CA making a Total War Mythology separate from Shogun 3. Total War Mythology, they could give Nippon characters from the Sengoku era and throw in superpowers and whatnot.
