Why when the ai sieges me i fight not inside the city but in the open field ?
Yes. The ai attacked one minor city of mine and instead of fighting inside the city i have to go out.

Why ? It doesnt even have a option to choose.

Because you're attacking the enemy army that is outside of your city.

Look up what siege means. If its a farm then those don't have "city". Its just some fields and buildings.

Its a flat terrain. It has nothing. Just green terrain.

Cause you triggered the battle. Meaning you are the attacking party of this battle and they are the defender. It's not like you live on a mobile fortress, so if you want the towers and walls on your side then you need to holdout the siege until they attack you.

Has this happened more than once? Or did you get the wrong map in one particular battle?

I only got sieged once until now. The city that i got sieged is like the lumber town, or the copper mine type you know ?

I fought a copper mine one time and the ai was defending on that mine city thing. Anyway, i'll take a screenshot of that town and you guys tell me if thats right or not.

It may just be a bug. I wouldn't worry too much unless it continues to happen.

The problem is that fighting outside your city if you have a small force really makes my chances of winning pretty hard you know....

Yeah, I understand. But losing one small town in the course of the game is pretty minor, if annoying because of the circumstances. As long as it doesn't continue to happen, it's probably one of those things you just need to suck up. You can always make a bug report, but I wouldn't stop playing while waiting.

Those aren't cities. Some resource settlements such as farm do not have any defensive fortifications. Hence the battle takes place on open terrain.

dulany67 didn't post the answer. There is no bug there. The weapon craftsman is literally just 1 hut. Look at the picture of the settlement.

So is the copper mine. So why the hell the copper mine has archer towers ????
