Good opening moves with Lu Bu? (World Betrayed)

Not sure how to start with this guy, so I run back to yingchuan plough through the brothers on the way (using maintain momentum once so I can get to the farm)

Then what? I lost my city to Cao Cao and my income is negative and now I guess my main goal is to defeat him but he has 3 armies and I cannot maintain even a single full one.

My faction seems to have a lot of characters taking up salraries I can dismiss but it doesnt seem right that I get all these unique characters and have to dump them all.

Lu Bu is strong but I dont think I can beat all of Cao Caos armies eispecially as he sticks to his cities seemingly knowing that I will run out of money soon.

I'm obviosuly missing something here so any tips are appriciated cheers!

A few turns in you get an event that lets you choose between continuing the fight with Cao Cao or making peace and getting a piece of land from Liu Bei in exchange for becoming his vassal. From there you are you financial situation should get slightly better while are expected to try and take land from the other Bandit factions until you get are given another dilemma to betray Liu Bei.

I ambushed Cao Cao near Yingchuan and besieged Chen. After that it was easier. Lu Bu is a great beast and will make up for your lack of men.

Oh nice Im a fair few turns in and I havent had that event pop up yet but Ill see if it shows up.

I did try and ambush caocao in that forest with 80% success chance but Caocao din't bite he wasnt commiting to anything without his large army.

So, on legendary level first you remove almost everyone from your court, you send Diaochan to get some money from trade in Chen, you name Zhang general and you go back to Chen, buy 2 shoc cavalery units 280g upkeep each, get trade with Chong. Then Cao starts the siege, next turn you attack Cao only, then you attack second army only, then again you attack second army finishing them and finally you go for Cao. Next turn wherever he escaped, just finish him off. Ignore turbans, move your army north and take fields ASAP. If scared to fight, let enemy attack you. Next hire some cheap shieldsman, 2-3-4 units and prepare ambush under fields. Beat and next turn remove another army. After than you have 3 opportunities: play for time, get full army and siege caos main city, ambush nearby his city and attack after he leaves(you can hire Gao Shun in Chen) and you can sue for piece just with 2 camps defended which is recommended. Dont fight CaoCao longer you need, he will strike you from behind with your former friends army. Longer you fight him more wars you get and you definately dont need it at the begining.
