SOLVED: Game won't launch

After patch 1.4 (I think), the game doesn't start. I get a black screen for a few moments before it simply crashes to desktop without any explenation.
Occasionally the game starts and then crashes when I try to load a campaign.

I have no mods.
Reinstalling, verifying game chache etc. doesn't work.

System
Windows 10, 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
16 GB RAM
DirectX 12

Anybody else have this problem? Any solutions?

So, I came back here in case anyone with a similar problem finds this thread.

I think I've found an odd solution. If I'm running something else, like google Chrome while starting the game, the game seems to start just fine.
I click 'play' on Steam and then immediately start using chrome, so that 3K launches in the background. When the game intro starts I can click on the 3K window and the game seem to work just fine.
