Light Crossbow Artillery

Has anybody tried the new Multi-Bolt Crossbow artillery? Was thinking of recruiting but not sure how it performs, anybody tried?

They are actually pretty dangerous, most infantry units will be crippled in only a few shots from them.

they can get ~500 kills per battle even at level 1

Liu Chong can get bonuses through his trophies that make all artillery shoot faster and do more damage. They are pretty insane under his control.

They are also more accurate than you would expect.

I never used those because of army capacity. I just dont have space. For expendable armies like a national guard I would use those hiding on the borders of my empire. Since theres an army cap no.

Yes I've used them quite a bit. I threw in 2 in my army along with my 2 trebuchets, 7 Yi archers, and about 2 sabre militia, 2 spear guard, 2 halberds. 1 crossbow The A.I. likes loose formation all the way up to the point where they crash into my infantry line.

Honestly unless you are met with 3 or more armies the armies pretty much die before they get to you.

I once took on 4 stacks. killed about 4500 troops before my army almost got wiped. But I had a supporting of 3 of my best Generals. And I didn't fight them all at once. The game can't field an army that size at once.

I have found that trebs are very potent, usually have two plus 4 archer units and most enemy armies are 60% fleeing before they reach my front line troops.
