please CA just make a gunpowder total war, because it seems like every time you make a new melee game you just make it worse than the last.

no i never played shogun 1
but if you play the games before the newest.
like shogun 2 it has amazing animations and gameplay
atilla was good
warhammer was meh
and thrones of britannia was really bad.
so its in my opinion that the games are going down in quality not up.

Also a heavy matter of personal preference, claims that are much easier to counter than support.

I wouldn't mind a Victorian Era-ish setting - like Fall of the Samurai with a more global map. While we're at it id also love so see a bronze age/biblical game setting with Hitities, Egypt, Assyria, Israel, Babylon, etc.

Empire was a great title imo because it had the best campaign. You actually feel like you’re managing a nation state (for the most part). With a little more proding and pushing, it would be right in my perfection strike zone. Not too paradox-y but also not like an arcade game (build merchant warf: +200 gold from trade, type of thing). Coupled with some of the tweaks from mods like darthmod and imperial splendour and empire could’ve been the best tw game ever (out of the ones I’ve played at least).

So, the best gunpowder game required half of the units to be melee? What is it you want, because it doesn't seem like you want a gunpowder game. Seems like you want a mix
