It is not uncommon for powerful men of Ancient China to have multiple concubines...

Besides, defeated lords who could not protect themselves have no right to have a wife anyways, it be nice if I could take them.

And multiple wives, if King Henry XVIII taught me anything, would give me a higher chance to produce a heir, and if they betray me, well then, they shall die and everyone related to them whether they are her family, her distant relative, her friend shall join her. So it's a win for me either way.

Yuan Shao see his first son stubborn and coward so he make youngest son heir that make crisis to downfall of Yuan family

Cao Cao want to make third son heir but Jia Xu said some example from both two cao cao then make first son heir

Sun Quan make his seventh son heir and this lead to another crisis in Wu until end of three kingdom period

Only Liu bei who make first son heir but by the way his first son fall to influence of Zhuge Liang and make Shu downfall after smartest man dead

But let's me talk to Harem system i think CA will not make it happen because it will create too many children in the game and SJW don't like this

CA just finish Campaign system all they show us will be the last update of this game only combat that they are working for and only 3 month for fix everything

Well, funny thing is, most of the "new" mechanics in TW3k were pretty much lifted from CK2. Some people were even noticing that TW3K is trying to be more like a grand strategy game now than Total War.

For now I'm more conerned that most of the portaits we have seen so far for generic female characters don't look particulaly attractive. At this rate come going to have to go out of my way to get hold of (and widow if necessary) Sun Ren or Zheng Jiang...

Once that has been rectified via additional characters or mods then I'll attempt to renact Cao Cao's habit of often claiming the wifes of defeated enemies as concubines.

That Red Cliff movie where Cao Cao's entire motivation for invading Wu was the he wanted to steal and marry Xiao qiao from Zhou Yu was really hilarious. Also, modding portraits should be easy enough.

I'm happy for multiple wives but I don't think it will happen. The succession issues can still be done (most of Cao Cao's contenders for succession were of same mother) and I think they will stay clear of pologmy. If they accept more complicated then one true love that DW goes for, would be an improvement

Yuan Tan was not a coward but a famed general in his own time. There were criticisms of Yuan Tan based around his governing but not that charge.

No evidence Liu Qi was a drunken playboy, the Liu Bei/Cai Mao thing is at least novel accurate.

Shu lasted decades after Zhuge Liang's death.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m under no illusions that ca will implement multiple wives in 3k. I’m just saying in some parallel universe where they have, it would need to contain some meat under the wall dressing. There’s plenty of ways to create atmosphere with things that are inherently superficial. Having accurate armor, appropriate landscape, even lighting and cinematic shots, etc. But when it comes to an actual game mechanic, it needs to be more than just bones.

I do not understand why it will not be a part of this game considering you could possibly have generals supporting a separate heir

I think I'd support this particulary if it has meaningful role in gameplay. At the very least two of the playable warlords had their domains crumble due to succession issues based on this (at least in the novel).

It’s already been hinted that succession issues are a thing in the game. What I would want from this multiple wives thing is an even greater risk/reward. Sure you get more wives with increased chances of getting a male heir, but this means more competition from these half brother heirs than you’d have from regular brothers. I also don’t recall if we’ve had bastard sons in tw games before but it would be an interesting gameplay element to add to spice things up further.

Well, there's still Romance of the Three Kingdoms... uh... what was the last one... 12? 13? Whichever it is, you can at least have three wives there, I believe.
