Generals with negative melee evasions seems to falls apart so quickly in duels, many have speculate that there's a bug in the game where if a general has negative melee evasions, his attacks might hit himself, which means Lu Bu can one-shot himself and lose the duel since Smouldering Fury buff his attack to 400%
The reason why Pei Yuanshao is so good in duels is because he's a dueling general who has access to Wisdom of the River, which is an OP skill (-100 melee evasion & armor) that's only reserved to strategists. Usually, for dueling, you want to have a strategist around to support you and debuff the enemy general, but Pei Yuanshao can do it all by himself. His skill set is just that good.
Which is funny because in the book, him and He Man basically died the moment they gets introduced
Plus there's a bug where his passive will stack to the point it makes his attacks hit himself and he'll just delete his own face sometimes and while its hilarious, its also not good dueling strategy to commit suicide because you've been fighting for 30 seconds.
