Can't marry Diao Chan as Lü Bu

Hey guys,

I followed the story from the original Warlords start up until the event to kill off Dong Zhou.

Did that, but to play as Lü Bu himself and not his son you have to adopt Lü Bu.

Problem is, since Diao Chan marries Dong Zhou due to an event, she is counted as family, as is Lü Bu, which means I can't have Lü Bu marry Diao Chan, ruining the immersion kind of.

Anyone an idea how to work around that? Or can I not play as Lü Bu and have him marry Diao Chan?

That event you can choose not to marry diao chan to dong zhuo and marry her to lubu instead. If your playing from the mandate then its different, from when lubu already in your faction then the statement I said before happens.

You could always try killing off Dong Min BEFORE Dong Zhuo so that a random general becomes the heir. Just a thought.

But if I let Lü Bu marry Diao Chan in that event, the event where you can choose to have Dong Zhou killed by Lü Bu doesn't appear, but I want to play as Lü Bu as quick as possible.

And how would that help playing as Lü Bu who is married to Diao Chan?

Simple mechanics. If Dong Min is dead, a random general will become the heir upon Dong Zhuo dying. This means that Lu Bu may become the new faction leader WITHOUT being related to the Dong family, therefore still able to marry Diaochan.
