And why is it Lu Bu?

I've always liked to start a 190 AD scenario as Kong Zhou, just to make the existing Three Kingdoms title some kind of challenge.
In Ro3K 11 I had Liu Pi (a former yellow turban bandit) owning Lu Bu in the forests with his Critical Ambush skill as Kong Zhou. Good times.

In the Romancing games I always liked to make my own officer and just wander the map until someone recruited me. :p

Gan Ning's always been a favourite of mine. Gotta love a pirate turned hero. :p
Sima Yi with a close Cao Cao. Mainly because the first basically finished it up and had sons not seemingly useless.

(Also a rival to Zhuge Liang I hear)

I think I like the guys who are portrayed like they actually had a plan and tried to strategize around that. As if they actually meant to follow the advice of sun tzu’s art of war. So people like Zhuge Liang, Sima Yi, and zhao yun (? I’m bad at recalling some of the names).

I also like lu bu because he was so talented yet had such an obvious flaw, like he’s a tragedy. He’s the one who could’ve benefited the most from sun tzu’s writings. Instead he was good at tactics but not strategy and fell for the thot trap.

LV BU not LU bu

Cao Cao probably, a complex and fascinating character, a man of many great talents. I also have fondness for tragic figures like Lv Bu or figures harshly done by like Liu Shan.

Cao Cao is pretty awesome. Whether viewed as hero or villain, he did accomplish much.
Lu Bu of course is just everyone's favourite beatstick. lol

But I've always appreciated lesser famed characters like Gan Ning or Zhang He. Even with Zhang He's portrayal in the Dynasty Warriors games as KOEI decided to take insane levels of creative liberty based on the fact that Zhang He was skilled as a poet and practiced the arts. :p

Kinda how I view the figure even historically. Seemed he was by far the wisest of the dynasty leaders even when portrayed as a villain in the novel of sorts. Cao Cao can lose an entire navy and be back for your land "in the name of the Emperor" next year just cuz.

Edit: Although Lu Bu is a fun Dynasty Warriors character - I actually can't say I like him in any way shape or form as he is portrayed. A massive, egotistical brute that was his own undoing. Ready to stab anyone in the back, would make Brutus blush. Met a fitting end and Guan Yu is way cooler.

Zhuge Liang! He's a favourite character of mine in any setting not just Three Kingdoms. I've always admired the (romanticized) version of him. Helped me be a better person when I was younger.

I was more thinking the historical Lu Bu. With the DW Lu Bu, I'm fine with him but the only reason he tends to stand out for me is when they do a decent romance with Diao Chan
Taishi Chi or whatever. Just because I like his fighting style in Dynasty Warriors games. No clue who he actually is.

One of the silent heroes of the tale in a lot of ways. I can't recall how he was supposed to have died but Sun Ce seemed to admire him. Good choice is what I'm getting at, didn't expect it.

If I had to go with more of the general type - I'd probably go with Zhao Yun simply because it seems like he fought and lived through it all. Imagine finally finding that "benevolent" leader you wanted to fight for then later in life realize his off-spring was useless and Zhuge couldn't live forever or push further north due to Sima Yi.
