So my generals hate eachothers..
was wondering how I can improve their relation between each of them? they're fighting together all the time and apparently they dont like each others and what are the downsides of this?

in my zheng jiang one her 1st general dislikes her and i think im on turn 100 or so? well as far as i can tell being a rival in the same army means that said generals will do more damage (in romance mode idk bout records) to show that theyre better than their rival BUT there is a chance (idk the % but it seems to be low?) that either one could get wounded Mysteriously so theres a risk reward type of thing as far as i can tell (again this is in romance mode idk if its the same or entirely different in records)

I have played long enough that several times my Generals developed a bad dislike for each other within the same army. If it goes on too long I got a message that says "Trouble Brewing", and a description that says if action is not taken thing are likely to "Come too a head". So in each case I just rotated out one of the troublesome retinues, and put a new one in that was friendly to those that remained. The old retinue would go back to the court, and I would use it in a new army later on. Some of the Generals just seem to hate everyone.

Lu Bu hates everyone and everyone hates Lu Bu.

i have dian wei as my chancellor in my cao cao campaign and his satisfaction is 100 but for some reason he hates me (cao cao) even though he's still at full satisfaction

Get sigils - trinkets on them with *satisfaction* get administrators that boost faction wide *satisfaction traits on generals*
Avoid three generals with dislikes *X* .. a V like and X all together will work but it takes some time and you need to win several battles.
And even faction quests when you summon the faction lords will have options to boost satisfaction.
Also learn *way of great peace* in the blue section from Reforms.

There stats are different, Dian Wei is a muscle head and Cao Cao is a smarty pants.

If they hate each other don't use them in the same army. Essentially it's the equivalent to someone you just can't stand irl. It doesn't matter how much you work on it. The probability is the relationship would just degrade.

Try to pair generals who like each other ( the check mark) or are neutral. You best bet is to swap whichever is the least liked. Generals can really sour the army. They will grow from Dislike - > Rivals -> Nemeses. Essentially as a commander they are incompatible and would drag your army morale and such down. Just better to find compatible generals who will work well together.

In battle having well liked allies would also allow your generals to go "Berserk" should one fall in battle. Increased damage and a boost to health. While they wouldn't care if they didn't like them.

yeah that's why i just put dian wei as a chancellor instead of using him as a general in my army.. i use xiahou dun and xiahou yuan along with me for my main army and they love eachother and are oathsworn to me so it's a great relationship for the army

I usually separated them and hired another general to replace him that has a huge green tick.

theres really no reason to do that, them not liking each other is a buff just like them loving one another, the buff for rivalery is 50% more damage of both types, they dont lose satisfaction for it either.

personality trait are the spice of this total war, and best condition for matching the roman, you cant remove them,
sometimes you have choice for boosting relation with one or another with your leader..you have option item for court to boost satisfaction for manage them, but most of the time you have to read what they a re looking for, but you cant negate their skill

otherwise there wont be defection or ban option etc, yet they could do a mod for make a easy pick...for my Lu bu, he had malus with all my stratege ;x

They won't betray you as long as satisfaction doesn't reach 0 so it's fine to let them hate each other (if it does and you can't reverse the process the general will leave).

Interesting thing. In my game I had two generals who hated each other. Out of war necessity I kept them together. The game warned about the rivalry but I didn't do anything.

I then got a event that the rivalry actually became good because both generals would compete to 1 up each other constantly giving each +15 satisfaction.

Pretty cool bet it's a low chance though

You literally get a popup event to improve satisfaction... nothing really happens. My strategist hates my leader and he been in the army for the full campaign...
