Liu Bei broken??

I am on turn 56 I have had the quest to confed liu biao for awhile now and there is just nothing I can do to get him to confed with me. He HATES me.. cao cao made him declare war on me and ever since then I have been ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I really want to see/play Liu Bei's missions etc but I am stuck on this one...

Do I need to restart and hope for a better situation where he likes me and I can finish this step so I can move on to the next??

Give him food. Give them all food!

Everyone in the game will come to love your faction if you just give them food.

Also, when playing Liu Bei, use all of your unity at the very beginning of the game to take every Han settlement you possibly can. You'll be producing so much food it's basically a free bribe in diplomacy.

you don't really need to do that
in the stories from three kingdom,the base of Liu Bei in the game(+Tao qian) Territory got destroyed(razed) by Cao-Cao
then Liu Bei run to seek refuge with Liu Biao,and Liu Bei never really got his territory handed to him like Tao Qian,and Liu Biao life become miserable after Liu Bei came

so basically Liu Bei is Three Kingdom parasite hoping here and there back stabbing everyone and taking their territory

So you really need to be on top of Cao Cao. He is the arch villain of the game IMO, manipulating everyone, and if you are not on top of him he can totally crush you.

The food tip is a huge one. I have found that feeding people is the only way to stop backstabs since the ai dont care about peace agreements.

I have mostly played cao cao, but i did look at liu bae's start. I suggest beelining to one of the food provinces, then going straight for Cao Cao's throat. You have a MUCH STRONGER army than Cao Cao does at the start, just get some spearment to deal with cavalry.

in my playthough i went west toward cao cao and took all his territories before turn 10, tried to give him a farmland for storysake but went migrating on his own and died lol. i got liu biao to confed up around turn 20 but no story event trigger. I just conquered my way connecting his capital city and territory through conquest and territory trade with won sul since liu biao likes them but still no story trigger...

has anyone progressed with liu bei story?

yeh i only got one step further tho after you take lui biao's land which if you attack and take his lands that works to you will get the next mission ally with sun clan (wu) but i didnt get any further bc he already hated me

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the next quest is to ally with sun? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that seems hard to do too lol! They hated me pretty early enough! Hmm! If I want to do this quest line I might have to play it on easy??

They are more likely to do it when they're in a doomed position. Afterall confederation puts an end to their ambition.

Finer words never spoken. Idk how Liu Bei got potrayed so positively in the books hes the ultimate parasite and scumbag. Then they made Cao Cao out to be the arch villain when he clearly was only one capable of taking care of business.
